Design & Environmental Analysis | South Asian | she/her/hers

“Tell me about yourself.”

Hi, I am Samika, and I am from California. I am a sophomore majoring in Design & Environmental Analysis and am excited to be working at the CEC. Being part of Human Ecology is incredible because I get to connect with creative, unique people from around the world, learning and collaborating together. The professors, advisors, and students in HumEc have made me feel so welcome, and I am excited to contribute to the CEC in the same way.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

At least for now, I want to pursue product design focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and technology. I am still trying to figure out what kind of products I want to design, but I am excited to try new things whether that is in a class or through a club.

What are you involved in on campus?

On campus, I am involved in Cornell University Sustainable Design, Medium Design Collective, and Thread Magazine. I am also a Lab Assistant in the Health Design Innovations Lab and a Human Ecology Ambassador.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to make art and try new arts and crafts (right now, I am getting into jewelry making). I also enjoy hiking, playing tennis, cooking with my friends, and thrifting.
